Welcome

Welcome to the Dental and Oral Health Therapist Association of Queensland (DOHTAQ)’s Professional Development Day at Rydges Southbank hotel, Cnr Glenelg street and Gray street Brisbane on Friday 5th September 2008.

The professional development day will focus on Adolescent Oral Health.

The day will have an adolescent focus following the federal government’s announcement pertaining to the oral health of 12 -17 year olds. The day aims to look at all aspects of the adolescent psyche and how best to engage with these patients to bring about favourable results in oral hygiene and how to manage the outcomes of their oft times potentially tooth damaging behaviours.

The day will have a program packed with information from the following –

Dr Jonathan Leichter – Senior Lecturer Department of Oral Services, University of Otago
Prof. Laurie Walsh – Head of the School of Dentistry, University of Queensland
Dr Faye Goodyear – Orthodontist
Carole Mitchell – Director, Heart of the Matter - Relationship Education and Therapy Services

We anticipate approximately 120 delegates and participants are usually predominately made up of dental professionals from both the public and private sectors, dental industry representatives and interstate oral health practitioners.

Following a full day of speakers why not stay for the networking reception at the conclusion of the day. On the reverse side of the form are the registration details for you to complete and return as soon as possible as places are limited.

Looking forward to seeing you on the day.

Helen Field
DOHTAQ Secretary
